What is the Right to Information?
The Right to Information Act 2009 is the Queensland Government's approach to giving the community greater access to information. Stadiums Queensland is committed to this approach through transparency, accountability and providing information to the community.
Under the Right to Information Act 2009, the public has a right of access to information in Stadiums Queensland’s possession or under Stadiums Queensland’s control unless, on balance, it is contrary to the public interest to provide the information.
The relevant legislation is:
• The Right to Information Act 2009
• The Information Privacy Act 2009
The legislation aims to make more information available, provide equal access to information across all sectors of the community, and provide appropriate protection for individuals' privacy.
Stadiums Queensland has issued a Publication Scheme in accordance with the requirements of Section 21 of the Right to Information Act 2009. The Publication Scheme provides information about the structure and functions of Stadiums Queensland, the types of documents held by it, and the ways in which these documents can be accessed. Publications available to be viewed are listed in the Publication Scheme.
Stadiums Queensland’s disclosure log provides details of information that has been released in response to non-personal Right to Information requests under the Right to Information Act 2009. It contains a description of the information released.
