Stadiums Queensland’s (SQ) venues have rounded out a blockbuster 2025-26 financial year hosting everything from grassroots sport to global events, welcoming a record six million patrons through the doors portfolio-wide and solidifying Queensland's reputation as the leading destination for major events.

Crowds across Queensland were wowed with memorable moments across more than 170 major events portfolio-wide, including the historic British and Irish Lions’ Test against the Wallabies, Australia’s win over England in The Ashes, the globally significant AFC Women’s Asian Cup, the Brisbane International and another sell out NRL Magic Round, during which Suncorp Stadium celebrated its 25 millionth patron.

The versatility of SQ venues was on full display with a range of major entertainment, including: The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo; international concerts by Lady Gaga, Metallica, ACDC, Ed Sheeran and Jelly Roll’s biggest headline stadium show outside of the US; Nitro Circus’ adrenaline filled night of flips; a near capacity crowd for the FIM World Super Cross Championship; and two huge Monster Jam shows.

Community venues QSAC and Sleeman Sports Complex promoted participation, sporting pathways and healthier, more connected communities, with more than 1.5 million patrons attending over 730 community sport and entertainment events, including school sport, community training programs and recreational activities.

The facilities remain central to Queensland’s high-performance sporting ecosystem, supporting more than 385,000 visits by high-performance sport and development patrons throughout the year, as we continue to help develop the next generation of Australian champions.

SQ Chief Executive Todd Harris said our venues are a source of pride for Queenslanders, underpinning great memories and bringing communities together.

“Queensland’s ability to host world-class events shows, deliver grass roots participation and help prepare our  high-performance athletes to perform on the world-stage is exactly why we are increasingly becoming the home of sport and major events in Australia, and this record year has reaffirmed our leadership in live entertainment and our vital role in Queensland’s economy.”

“Our team across SQ are proud to be the safe pair of hands lifting our state to centre stage by managing and maintaining venues, attracting content and executing events to provide world class experiences for Queensland.”

SQ venues are gearing up for another thrilling year of world-class events, with several high-profile events already locked in including the ANZAC day Bledisloe match, NRL Magic Round, and concerts from the Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses, Robbie Williams, Bruno Mars, and The Gabba’s third ever concert, Carreras and Friends.
