Stadiums Queensland’s expertise went global recently with Sustainability Manager Kate Harding joining an international panel of experts for a discussion at the 2026 Sport Positive Summit.

Bringing together global leaders from across the sports industry, the Sport Positive Summit is an annual event that provides a platform for experts to share knowledge and explore important themes around how sport can drive positive environmental change.

Ms Harding was invited to be part of a panel discussion featuring five global experts to discuss the theme ‘Stewardship at Scale’, exploring ideas around how industry can embed climate action more effectively.

Ms Harding said she was proud to represent Stadiums Queensland and be part of conversations shaping the future of sustainable sport and major events.

“Joining the Sports Positive Summit as a panel member provided such a great opportunity to engage with international industry leaders on important topics around sustainability in sport, which is more important than ever as we prepare to welcome the world for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” Ms Harding said.

“It was interesting to hear the differing experiences of the various panel members and learn more about how climate changes is impacting sport across the world.

“Being part of forums such as the Sport Positive Summit provides valuable opportunities to learn from global best practice and bring fresh perspective and new insights back to Queensland’s iconic stadiums and venues.”

“By sharing our expertise, Stadiums Queensland continues to strengthen its industry connections and elevate our business to an international level, positioning ourselves as a knowledgeable and respected voice in the venue management and sustainability conversation.”

This year, the annual summit returned in a newly structured virtual format, providing more accessibility for attendees and speakers, and reducing the carbon impact of the annual event.

In her role as Sustainability Manager, Ms Harding supports the execution of sustainable business practices and initiatives, in line with SQ’s ESG Framework, across the portfolio of nine venues.
