As we mark International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), Stadiums Queensland upholds its commitment to providing safe, inclusive and accessible places for all patrons to enjoy entertainment at our venues.
We have implemented a range of accessible facilities at our venues, such as accessible seating and ticketing options, accessible parents rooms and toilets, accessible parking and transport options, assistive listening systems, and AUSLAN interpreters at certain events.
Both The Gabba and Suncorp Stadium have dedicated sensory rooms which provide individuals experiencing sensory issues during an event (such as people with autism, dementia or PTSD) with a dedicated and purpose-built safe environment away from the noise of the event.
Accredited changing places facilities are also available at Suncorp Stadium, The Gabba, and Queensland Country Bank Stadium designed to support individuals with high care needs.
Patrons visiting The Gabba, Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Cbus Super Stadium, Sleeman Sports Complex, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane Entertainment Centre and QSAC along have access to the Sunflower Program to support those with a hidden disability.
SQ acknowledges the importance of continually striving to improve accessibility throughout our venues.
On 3 December, our venues lit up purple in recognition of IDPwD and our commitment to offering a welcoming environment for all.
