The best and most competitive Rugby League World Cup is just 100 days from kick-off as players from 26 teams representing 14 nations in Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair tournaments ramp up preparations to win the game’s ultimate prize.

Staged in nine cities in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, Rugby League World Cup 2026 will feature 51 matches across the three tournaments including at Queensland venues Suncorp Stadium, Queensland Country Bank Stadium and Cbus Super Stadium.

Rugby League World Cup 2026 gets underway on October 15, and will conclude with the Men’s and Women’s finals at Suncorp Stadium on November 15.

Stadiums Queensland Chief Executive Todd Harris said the 2026 Rugby League World Cup provides an incredible opportunity for Queensland fans to celebrate the pinnacle of global rugby league in their own backyard.

“Queenslanders love rugby league, and with Stadiums Queensland venues playing host to three of the eight host city destinations, fans right across the state have the chance to come along and watch the best of the best in rugby league,” Mr Harris said.

“Global tournaments like this showcase not only the talent on the field but also the host venues, and with just 100 days to go our teams at Suncorp Stadium, Cbus Super Stadium and Queensland Country Bank Stadium are getting ready to welcome fans and showcase the very best of rugby league to audiences around the world.”

Established in 1954, the Rugby League World Cup is the second oldest sporting World Cup, and the 17th iteration is set to be the most competitive yet as Australia, New Zealand, England, Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, France, Cook Islands and Lebanon battle it out for the Paul Barrière Trophy.

The format of the pool stages for RLWC2026 ensures a cut-throat element to the tournament, with crossover games and head-to-head results determining semi-final spots to ensure every match is virtually must win.

More than 100,000 tickets have been sold so far for RLWC2026, and fans are encouraged to take advantage of the accessible ticket pricing as matches are expected to sell out.
